Project 3: Sweater Boots

January 17, 2011

Sweater boots from Urban Threads

How cute are these boots? I found the tutorial for sweater boots at Urban Threads during the last week of 2010 and I’ve been chomping at the bit to make them ever since. It helps that I already have a pair of shoes exactly like the ones they use that I was planning to get rid of. Now I can repurpose them into something cozy for the rest of winter. I’ll also get to use the Memory Craft embroidery machine at TechShop and the hot glue gun I inherited from my mother-in-law. Plus, I’ll have something fun to wear when I’m done. Sounds like a fun project to me!

  1. 1. This is not showing up on the front page of your site. It didn’t pull for me in LJ’s RSS, but G had it in his, (don’t know what feed reader he is currently using) and I had to click the “sewing” tab to find it.

    2. Is it cheating or mooching if I play along? Because I NEED those boots. Need need need.

  2. Definitely play along! I’ll be heading out to TechShop tomorrow night to do my embroidery. Do you want to come?

    • I think I’ll do mine with either applique or just the button and no embroidery. I’m still trying to decide if I want to cut up a blue sweater I have or stop by the Goodwill, so I’m not ready yet anyway.
